The Biography of Sindisile Marks (Silva)Sindisile Marks, also known as Silva or Silva-Kalelo, was born in Nonzwakazi, De Aar, Northern Cape, South Africa. His hometown was highly influenced by hip-hop music, being mentored by his late older brother, Xolani, who was also into hip-hop music. In the early 2000s, during his teenage years, he then started to rap and grow fonder to hip-hop as he started to write his own lyrics. He used to call himself Israel Marks because that was the name he was given when he was baptized in Utopian Black Christianity Church. His first performance was at Psyfas Car Wash back in his hood taking place every weekends and he also has participated in many music festivals that were held around Northern Cape. In June 16, 2007, he performed in a stadium filled with 80 000 people at an event that was held back in Nonzwakazi and that is when he got his recognition in his hometown and nearby towns. Even now, he is one of the respected hip-hop artists for this lyrical content filled with a driven message.During his high school era, he used to write poets and also wrote some love songs for some pupils. Since then, he started to grow stronger in terms of rapping and writing lyrics. He used to be a leader in a local hardcore hip-hop group called Umkhukhu Underground Intelligence (UGI).He then moved to Botshabelo, Free State, to start a new afresh life where he met Legendarian (Setjhaba Mosese), who introduced him to Mr. DeepQuake due to his talent. From that moment, they started to work on big hits which will be released sooner under Mr. DeepQuake's label called DeepQuake Recording Company (DQRCO) and he is now an official member of the label. More hits to be released under the label.
